Hear timely information from industry professionals on how the price of oil has affected the economy locally, nationally and globally.

The State of Texas and especially the Houston area have benefitted enormously from high oil prices and new, more efficient ways of recovering oil and gas.  Hundreds of thousands of new residents flocked to area, while new jobs electrified the office and housing real estate markets.

As the saying goes, “All good things come to an end.”  Or have they?

We are especially excited to have Dr. M. Ray Perryman as our keynote speaker!

Dr. Perryman is President and CEO of The Perryman Group, an economic research and analysis firm based in Waco, Texas.

He was quoted in the February 2, 2015 issue of TIME Magazine for the cover article, entitled: "The Cost of Cheap Gas."

Dr. Perryman has authored more than 2,000 trade articles, publishes a subscription forecasting service and a monthly newsletter, writes a syndicated newspaper column, hosts a daily radio commentary, and appears regularly on National Public Radio.

We will also hear from Dr. Detlef Hallermann, who is an Associate Clinical Professor and Director for the Reliant Energy Trade Center at Texas A&M University.  He has over ten years of practical experience in the energy industry, and is well versed in oil and gas acquisitions as a petroleum engineer and MBA.

Prior to joining Texas A&M University, Dr. Hallermann performed product development for an energy trading and risk management (ETRM) software company and managed the Quantitative Group at Reliant Energy.

Our opening speaker will be Jenny Philip, who is a regional economist and senior manager of economic research at the Greater Houston Partnership. She studies Houston's economic trends in areas such as employment, energy, real estate, and international trade.

Jenny also contributes to the monthly publication of the GHP's Economy at a Glance and the annual publications of the Houston Economic Development Guide and Houston Facts.

HRP Food Drive!

HRP is participating in a food drive along with the other Texas Regional Groups to donate food to local food banks through Move for Hunger.

Please bring nonperishable items with you to the event for collection.  We collected 116 pounds of nonperishable food at last month's Business Mixer, and we are hoping to collect much more at this event.  Please participate! We really appreciate it!
